Australian Open 2020: Prize Money Announced with Significant Rise

There is a record prize money announcement for Australian Open 2020, which is 13.6 percent more than the last year 2019 Australian Open. The total prize fixed for the Australian Open is US $71 million which was surprised everyone because anybody can’t think about this sudden change.

Craig Tiley- Director Aus Open  said the increase the prize winner amount was another important step to invest money in the playing group.

“After the long debates with all members decided to improve the pay and conditions for more interest  of international  tennis players, the prize money of this year tournament is three times more than the prize was decided since 2007 Australian Open.

This year, as we do every year, we worked with the tours to establish the weighting for prize money increases round-by-round, and we pushed to reward players competing early in the tournament in both singles and doubles.”

In terms of ranking points, the singles champion will receive 2,000 points, the runner-up 1,300 points, the semifinalists 780 points and the quarter finalists 430 points. Reaching the fourth round will earn a player 240 points, the third round 130 points, the second round 70 points and the first round 10 points.
